What does this mean

I have posted about him before but more things have happened. For context he is a really shy guy me and him started out as friends before I started to like him. He found out I liked him and when his friend group asked him he said no but smiling and blushing trying to hide himself. He is now avoiding me in the hallway. But his best friend came up to me today at lunch and had me confirm it and I said i don't know if he likes me back and the friend said I think he does he is a good person and wasn't surprised at all when he found out. When my crush found out he was in shock and surprised. My friends asked him if he would want to go the dance with me and he said yes but he might have plans that day. What does this mean I'm I looking too much into this?
