CPA Ontario PEP Elective - software issue
I’m in a bit of a dilemma. During the CPA PEP exam a few weeks ago, there was an issue with the system—I'm not sure exactly what happened, but the exam started 25 minutes late. They had to plug in a USB and switch to a different system. When the exam ended, I went to submit my documents using the "finish" button, but both my documents were blank. I immediately raised my hand to call the proctor, who reassured me not to worry, as there were backup files on the computer.
After everyone left, they contacted IT, who provided them with passwords to access the backup folders (there were four folders), but none of my documents were there; they were still blank. I’ve been waiting for updates ever since, and after several emails, I was told they were still “examining” the laptop.
Today, I received an update stating that there is keystroke tracking software on the laptop, which logs every keystroke made during the exam. After reviewing the log files, they confirmed that my full and complete responses for both Word and Excel were captured, and the complete exam response was sent to the marking center for grading.
It’s been two weeks now, and I’ve asked for confirmation regarding whether my full name, candidate number, and page number were included in the Word document, but I haven’t received a response. This would reassure me that my full exam is captured. I’m confident that I performed well on the exam, and with the results being released this Friday, I’m really confused about the accuracy of this situation.
Could you offer any advice or insights?
