I’m going to Pride for the first time, what should I expect?

I’m going to NYC for a work trip in June and it just so happens to be the week of NYC Pride. I haven’t gone to any Pride events even though I’m from the DC area. I’m really nervous and excited. I don’t expect it to be magical or anything, but I’d love to know what tips or warnings any of you have.
