Anyone else think the delivery of jokes is kinda off in more recent Class of 09 media?

Like, for some reason the stuff after the flip side just doesn't hit the same way and I think one of the reasons is because the comedic timing is off. I have watched some clips from the anime and the first game back to back and it really does seem like there is a difference in comedic timing. Some jokes, based on their text, that would have made me lough out loud in the first game, just made me feel weird in the anime. Its kinda as if they take too long.
