hi.. 2nd thoughts on arthoscopic labrum repair this Friday?

Shoulder Surgery

Hi good afternoon,

Was hoping for some advice. Having 2nd thoughts on surgery this Friday. Feels like a 2nd opinion isn't available...

Is my shoulder totally screwed and in need of surgery? Came off of a third dislocation on my right shoulder this past January.

I've been doing PT and getting stronger. It obviously doesn't have full mobility, but feels 75 percent. It starts to feel uneasy on pull-ups and heavier weight.

I dislocated it while sneezing really impactfully and swinging my arm (the sneeze was unexpected.) I was lifting earlier that week, benching heavy for the first time after the 2nd dislocation a year prior.

I'm really wary of being recommended surgery for the sake of surgery.

I've just been in a single, government care friendly system for PT and Ortho care. I'm in a bit of dynamic time in my life, unemployed, trying to work soon, and the idea of being in a sling for a month, and not functioning fully for a year is a bit overwhelming. Not biking in the Spring, too, which is my main method of travel.

Can anyone weigh in on my shoulder status.. should I prioritize surgery? Got some dr notes and MRI image attached here.

My understanding is that I have an extensive tear in my anterior labrum, and because of that, my arm slips out. There is also a hill-sachs deformity (smashed cartilage?)

I live independently, so will have to recover pretty much alone. Any tips? Worried about food, dishes, showering.
