Is there a trick to face players who aren't insane in ranked?

I'm a birdie 3 and seem to only face the best players in the game in ranked. I birdie pretty much every hole and still am only 34-21, but I watch other people play and their opponents in higher tiers are nothing special while my opponents never miss any putt inside 20 feet. Do people use tricks to not matchup against these kinds of people?
