What kind of insurance question

I recently acquired a house in Texas that is a fixer upper. I'm fairly certain that the home will not qualify for homeowner's insurance due to some deficiencies with the house, the porch needs replacing due to boards rotting. The house has been vacant for a few years but is still structurally sound. I'm curious if there is some homeowner's policy, similar to renters, that would cover our possessions, but not necessarily the property itself.
