Question about holter monitor?
17f
Recently diagnosed with pots. Had to wear a 48 hour monitor and on those 2 days I had been out and active.
For reference before my question, my heart rate is always high, always. It’s almost never below 100. I have to be completely flat and still for it to even reach 75 bpm. Every time I go to the doctor office, it’s like 145, or higher. My Fitbit always reads 120+ just walking around my room, or better when I shower it reaches 150. I know this because I’ve been checking for years.
My doctor called with the results of my monitor and said the highest my heart rate got was “88 bpm.”
I could laugh right now. Do you know how hard it takes for me to get to 88? I would place money on the fact that’s incorrect, as 88 is pretty fucking normal and I wish that was my baseline.
Now I feel stupid because even though I’m diagnosed, the cardiologist thinks I’m “doing good and well” despite feeling like shit every day. I am crying like an idiot because I’m so tired of being told everything is fine, not that I want necessarily something to be wrong, but I know my heart rate goes WAYY higher than this.
MY QUESTION: has anyone’s holter monitor showed in accurate data? Maybe the adhesive wasn’t close to my skin? I’m thinking it wasn’t correct because there’s no way it only went to 88, I showered on the day I had it and almost collapsed in the bathroom. I’m mad right now.
