My possible FWB begging to not end contact. Does he have feelings?

I never had sex but got close as friends. I am deeply attracted and vice versa.We wanted sex eventually but for now I’m depressed so we put it aside. We only share pics. He asks for pics every day of me even if I’m just in PJ’s

In that time we got emotionally close though. He even gets mildly hurt that I shut down and don’t share my problems I’m going through with him because he said he feels shut out. He tells me he misses me all the time too

I felt bad that he’s not getting sex, so I told him to find someone else because I’m too depressed to get physical and I hate burdening him with my breakup drama.

He doesn’t want to.

He said he wants to be there for me and isn’t going anywhere unless I really want him to but that he will be sad if I end contact.

He is open to a relationship one day if I’m ever no longer depressed about my ex. But we both agreed it’s nowhere near that time. He doesn’t wanr a relationship rn. He said he has no feelings for me.

Now my ex wants me back.

I took him back and told my fwb we have to stop contact. He begged me not to because he as he said my ex is garbage for cheating on me. And he is right

My FWB then texted me asking I please reconsider ending contact. I told him I have to. He said he will wait for me because he knows my ex will only break my heart again..

Just curious is all. I suck at reading people. Does he have feelings or is he just a friend who is sad and frustrated seeing me go back to a loser?
