VA Disability Claims :claim:

I need some advice

I served in the Navy for four years 2008 to 2012. I served on the USS George HW Bush and the shore command on Norfolk Naval station.

While on the Bush:

I went awol for a day when arriving to the ship from being home sick.

There was a fire in the late evening hours in 2010

Also in 2010 an abh killed an ao Sutherland was his name over July weekend. Commend spoke about it the following Monday.

Recieved a back injury in early 2011 and was transferred to shore duty.

While on shore duty:

Transfer to short duty in early 2011 missed out on deployment felt bad because that was the whole reason I joined the Navy is to be deployed.

October 2011 received back surgery. Extended bedrest. Migraines and nerve damage as a result.

While I’m sure duty, the woman I was dating lead me to believe I was going to be a father we lived together, but when the child came out, the child did not book anything like me and after a DNA test, the results revealed that the child was not mine. Sadly I added this child to my deers account before hand. This woman and this child not being mine definitely affected my trust.

I also had a event where I drove through the gate of Oceana naval Station with a friend of mine without showing our IDs and lead the base police on a high-speed chase through the base due to not showing our IDs. For some reason, it was just a reaction and we went straight through the gate and they chased us down and caught us. I was laid back to my shore command where I received DRB and some extra duties.

I was separated shortly after

Since 2012 I have not really spoke about these events or military service whatsoever. I’ve avoided the conversation and in 2024 I started getting panic attacks and flashbacks severe anxiety and depression along with many other things. I filed a claim with the VA and I really think I may have PTSD or maybe noncombat PTSD. Having a lot of ptsd symptoms.
