What is the opinion on Americans? Do you like us, hate us, feel bad for us?

I'm (30/f) very scared right now. Nothing on the news has been believable, and it feels like there is no source of truth about what's happening here. The US feels like a very unsafe place to be for anyone who isn't in the elite tier of wealth. Do you guys know something we don't?
