Loving the Spanish (latinoamerican) dub
I'm from California but my Spanish is pretty awful, I didn't get into honors track Spanish because the middle school teacher despised me and kept her room full of allergens.
Watching actual Spanish language stuff like on cable TV was always too much of a leap for me because it's another culture and hard to find goth/alt stuff. But OMG! It occurred to me this year that I can just like... watch the Spanish dubs of stuff I already know by heart!
I know a lot of people can't stand dubs but I'm really enjoying it, and the songs are catchy. I remember one of my metalhead friends talking about how way because more stuff rhymes in Spanish, it's easier to write lyrics and you have more room to be clever. So like the line from You Didn't Know in Spanish is:
¡Si el infierno es eterno, el cielo puede esperar!
(If hell is eternal, then heaven can wait!)
I think I like that better than the English version!
Does anyone have recommendations for hellsome or cyberpunk Spanish media? I did enjoy Sleep Dealers quite a bit.
