Is this and ADHD thing or a me thing and does anyone relate?

General Question/Discussion

Long story short, whenever I start and want to start something new, such as a TV show, podcast, video game, book etc. I feel this sense of urgency to finish it ASAP. I always try to find out, how long it's going to take, try to figure out how long it's gonna take me. How many days, how much time per day, how often?

Before I even figure out if I even like the thing I'm already forcing myself to consume the thing as quickly as possible because I already want to have all of it in my head without spending hours/days/months on it. Even though eventually, once I get invested in said thing, I may wish there was more and I don't want it to end (though if it's an ongoing thing I also can't wait to be caught up and able to look at online discussions). And I'm starting to get really annoyed with myself because of this. I want to be able to slowly enjoy something without already having my sights on the next thing in line. It almost makes me think that I'm not enjoying the thing I'm rushing through, but I do this with everything, so perhaps that's not why. It's just very intimidating when I start something that I won't be able to finish for weeks or months. That feels like forever!

So does anyone here experience this? Is it and ADHD thing or a me thing? And has anyone found a way to deal with this?
