How much worse do you think the markets will be once the last non-tariffed products sell out?
Obviously we know the market is tanking right now and is already wiping trillions on a day by day basis, but the idea that the average product entering the US is going to be tariffed anywhere from 30-50% and up to 100% for most consumer goods, the market might just be underreacting a tidge.
Looking beyond the fact raw prices go up, the components of the big unknown thing we call the economy is each going to seize up and weld up like an unoiled engine when every individual part immediately cannot work on it's own anymore on top of margins squeezed by inflation - at the very least, Covid didn't destroy the global supply chain, it only strained it - and when the economy bricks up and tens of millions and beyond of jobs suddenly become unproductive, there will be layoffs that further strain the already broken global supply chains. In layman's terms, things do not look nice for the second half of this year.
What do you think?
