I feel like destiny and this sub straw mans the trump tariffs. change my mind.

Geopolitics News/Discussion

Yeah basically i feel like everyone in this sub isnt viewing the world correctly. I think the straw manning comes from not understanding how the trump admin is viewing the current geopolitical layout.

So this is my understanding of how the trump admin views the world. I believe it's also an accurate way to view the world. So please change my mind and tell me where I have blind spots.

China is a major threat to US hegemony and US way of life. The US is at severe risk of a war with China. And this is a war the US will 100% lose. The US will lose soley due to it's manufacturing capabilities vs Chinas. For every 1 ship the US produces china produces 10. I'm sure these numbers are even more devastating when looking at missile production, drone production, and any other type of military production. China has access to the majority of the world's rare earth minerals which are needed for military manufacturing. Near peer wars like this are won by manufacturing capability.

It may even be at the point where there is literally nothing the US can do. If the US pivoted to a war time economy at this very moment we'd never catch up to China's manufacturing capability. A viable path for the US is accepting this and attempting to appease china from a position of weakness.

So softness towards Russia comes from a place of wanting Russia on it's side against China. Russia and China relations are at a high point but there has been a lot of historical tension between China and Russia. Europe is pretty much useless in this conflict with China. They won't spend money on their military even with a war on their border. Why would they contribute to a far away conflict in any meaningful way between the US and China?

I did not vote for Trump. I deeply support Ukraine. I think Jan 6 was an attempted coup. But I do believe Trump's identified the US's manufacturing vulnerability. And i don't hear anyone addressing this problem (destiny, this sub, etc.) so that's why I'm writing this. It feels like no one sees a war with China as an issue and i believe this is one of the greatest issues the US is facing.

So yeah please correct my world view if I'm wrong. Why is a war with China not the biggest threat the US is facing? Why should the US not attempt to bolster it's manufacturing capabilities to address this problem?
