Is there a way to make sensors turn do the inverse function of something?

So basically I'm making a custom stabilizer for an airship I'm working on, and I'm trying to find out if you can make a sensor operate the reverse function on something, such as deflating an inflatable balloon or reversing a propellor. Is there a way to do that?
