👋 Welcome to r/NetBOM

Thanks for dropping in!

NetBOM stands for Network Bill of Materials—a new framework focused on transparency and control in connected environments, especially across OT, IoT, and edge networks.

NetBOM doesn’t tell you where a device came from—it tells you where it tries to go on the Internet.

It helps you:

  • See what your connected devices are reaching out to
  • Understand destination domains and IPs
  • Manually (or someday automatically) build firewall rules
  • Lock down unwanted or unexpected external communications

🔧 What You’ll Find Here:

  • Use cases and implementation ideas
  • Network transparency and segmentation strategies
  • Discussions on OT, IoT, and edge security
  • NetBOM updates and community feedback

🌐 Learn more at NetBOM.net to check out the white paper and the blog.

💬 Introduce yourself below or let us know what you’d like to see from this community.

Let’s make the network a little more honest.
