I (27M) just had surgery three days ago. My urine sample contained a positive for chlamydia.
I went in for surgery for testicular torsion this weekend. Surgery went fine and have been home for three days. Got a call from my health department today to inform me that my urine test taken during my hospital visit was positive for chlamydia.
Some background: my partner and I have been together for close to 4 years. We have a daughter together and have been completely exclusive with each other. I have no reason to doubt otherwise. She had a chlamydia test done during her pregnancy in 2023 which came back negative. She hasn’t been tested yet to see if she has it now.
Is it possible that it could have remained dormant in me from a previous parter for that long? Or is there a chance that I could have gotten a false positive? I would think with how active sexually we are it would have been transmitted by now if it was dormant. She and I are obviously both weary and I am planning to re-test ASAP.
Just looking for advice as this could lead to serious accusations in my relationship.
