Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego were brothers and friends of Daniel, whose names were changed from their Israelite names, so that after being prisoners of the king of Babylon, they would worship idols like the Babylonians. However, these three people were faithful to God like Daniel, because they had love and obedience to God. When they were about to be burned, it is believed that the fourth person who protected them from the fire was Immanuel, the Highest Priest. When Lord Jesus spoke before the Pharisees and declared that the truth will set you free, He meant spiritual freedom from the bonds of the dark world or the devils. Many people (including Pharisees) are deceived by the world's view that does not know the truth, such as money/possessions can bring comfort and freedom (physically ..yes), but spiritually - the more money, the more people who are tempted by its power, will be more attached to what they have, until traits such as corruption, stinginess, stealing, chasing money, etc. appear. There are other worldly attachments such as addiction to alcohol , drugs, sex, dirty thoughts (porn), food stimulation (cigarettes, vaping) etc.which can damage body, mind, spirit and make men/women have difficulties to stop and control themselves, as their souls/spirits are bound by evil spirits. Only with a strong desire to change and with the help of the Lord Jesus (the highest priest of the afterlife and the savior of the world), will humans regain their freedom. The Pharisees did not realize that their way of worshiping God was wrong, because they only followed the rules of the world instead of using the spiritual qualities taught by the Lord Jesus, such as love, loyalty, obedience, patience, gentleness (all reflections of the nature of the Lord God)to glorify God. Therefore,only those who reflect God's characteristics when worshiping and glorifying Him will be called as "children of God" who are free from the influences of the devils". Children of God will have characteristics that resemble each other because their model is the Lord Jesus and they ,instead of opposing each other or worst opposing Jesus,they tend to live filled with love and cooperation between them just like brothers and sisters. The Pharisees, as they opposed Lord Jesus, would stay in sin, because they could not accept the values He taught.
