Is lance meant to be easy mode?

I tried out lance for the first time last night and was surprised by how easy it was. I came from using GS and LBG, and I found Lance much easier to use and avoid damage by a long shot. I went up against Tempered Gore, Tempered Mizutsune, Tempered Xu Wu and they were all a piece of cake. You essentially can just stand there holding block and poking them till they die. I didn’t lose any damage to Mizu and didn’t even need to heal to Gore or Xu Wu. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not here to diss the lance, I enjoyed it, it just surprised me how easy I found it. Has anyone else experienced this?
