Do men like it if a woman approaches them in the gym?

I know there is this societal normality that women generally don’t want to be bothered by men in the gym in any capacity but that isn’t for all women… (also do men feel the same?) based on this there is a man I see at the gym frequently, we either make eye contact and a slight smile nothing too obvious or look at each other it’s obvious we have both noticed each other

As a man how would you feel if a woman sparked up the approach in the gym is that too bold and come across as intimidating or is this something men would appreciate more ?
