Beaufort or Moorland?
Hey everyone,
I’m trying to decide between a vintage Barbour Beaufort and a vintage Moorland, and I’d love to get your thoughts. Ideally, I’d love to own both, but space in my closet (and budget) is tight, so I’ve got to choose just one for now.
I know the Moorland uses 8oz waxed cotton and has a more rugged and heavyweight (great for the colder months), whereas the Beaufort uses 6oz and seems a bit more versatile. I’d mostly be wearing it around the city, but I do take the occasional countryside trip too.
I’m not super tall, so I tend to steer away from jackets that run too long, but I do like the feeling of being covered, especially in foul weather. I’m looking at getting one second-hand, so any advice on sizing or how these two compare in length and overall fit would be really appreciated. For reference, I wear a 40 in the Bedale, which is gives me plenty of room to layer and move.
For those of you who’ve had experience with either (or both!), which would you recommend and why?
Thanks in advance!
