Romantic love can't not be egotistical.

This may sound some sort of way but every relationship (love, family, friends, business) does have an element of transaction/benefit to it. And by that I don't mean malicious, just a give and take (of whatever kind) that takes place. I give you friendship you give me friendship in return. A certain need is fulfilled whether emotional or physical/material.

That being said, I don't believe in romantic love without ego. In fact I dont believe anything related to or experienced by humans cannot having ego in it. Ego literally means self and you're the one who's having the experience, it's individual. When you love someone they become part of you whether you realise/want it or not ... You view them as your own (not in the sense of ownership, but as in part of yourself). You want to make them happy, you want them content, you want to give them as much as you can, you want to enrich their experience ... So sayings like "I want them to be happy even if not with me" are total encouragement of c* uckery to my ears ... Why would sayings like this even exist? Why would you care what they do or wish their happiness to be with someone else? If that's the case and we are talking about such stuff then don't be together in the first place! Go find the person you wont have to wish them well with others! We are not talking hypothetical scenarios of how would life be if they weren't in the picture or if either of you were banging other people...

I knew i loved x person and I wanted to give them the world... I went miles for them, we would have built our lives together, I knew I could make them the happiest person on earth and I knew they were my ultimate happiness ... Now if that person isn't willing to see it, they can leave and go after what they seek. But that cucking bs I hear all the time "Let him go and wish him happiness with another", like what's next "give him your blessing and cheer for him while he's clapping cheeks?" The one who didn't love or care as much yeah, can wish such things all they want, but someone who truly loved would never...

And yeah this post may sound butthurt but we knew we were each other's true love and after a fallout he went and married another purely out of spite... Do I wish him hell and happiness when I know (and he knows it too) that our happiness was together? You can't realistically do that after you've put your everything into the relationship and they are such a deep part of your life... We had dreams, goals, milestones we wanted to achieve, a whole life planned together... do I just say "go ahead and give her everything we promised one another" while I'm left hollow for the rest of my life...?
