crash down depression or emotional regulation with Vyvanse?
For some context, I started Vyvanse 30mg and everything was perfect for the first months. The thing that impacted me the most when I started the meds when I was first diagnosed was my realization of how badly I was letting myself be treated because I felt I wasn’t enough and had anxiety making connections, it was like waking up, something I can’t even explain properly. Thanks to this realization I started “dropping the mask” cutting people off and some people cutting me off. The thing is dropping the mask has been tough because now I’m completely alone and even though I realize my self-love comes first, it’s painful to feel alone and not being able to change this situation without giving too much of myself because throughout my life people have not liked me for me but mainly for what I bring and I have been used a lot just to not lose people because the I can’t easily connect with people.
So, when I’m off my meds I tend to detach from my emotions even though I feel them rotting on my chest, I find to suffer for that isn’t even worth it since I’ve been suffering from it since I was a child, not worth it anymore and I’m sick of self-compassion. But when I’m on my meds now (thing that had never happened before) the crash down after the first 3-4 hours is me without being able to emotionally detach, it’s like without the meds I put myself in a dissociative state and with the meds I can’t reach that space so I tend to focus on my reality more.
Is this something expected? How can I handle it? Because I’m seriously wondering if I should ask for some anti-depressants or switch meds. I’ll mention it in my next appointment. (I have tried concerta and I was too angry to function).
