Getting spam email flooded 2k+ emails in 5hrs
It looks like I am a victim of identity theft, and I would be lying if I didnt say the stress is eating me up right now. Im getting a non stop flood from spam emails, sign ups, and even stuff like local newspapers and groups. It looks like someone got ahold of my Amazon account, and despite having 2fa setup they used it to make some large purchases. I contacted Amazon and they were able to reverse the largest one($1800 laptop) and will refund the other. Also about a week ago I had my Ebay account hacked into as well, they used it to make a purchase on an account which they setup themselves, and that one is still being investigated.
So far I have reset the password to everything that exists which is important to me, financial accounts, email, amazon. They sent a new CC out after the Ebay issue, Im not sure if I need a new CC again but Amazon has assured me they cannot access my full CC number through my Amazon account. So far I just removed it from there just to be safe. I had already had my 3 major credit agencies frozen a long time ago. I have ran Malewarbytes on my phone and on my computer and found nothing, and I have reset my wifi passwords.
I am wondering what I can do next? Im honestly overwhelmed and probably missing some things that need to be done because of it. Im checking my banking every like 30min, but so far I have seen no evidence of my information being used outside of these 2 websites. I dont save my card information anywhere else online that I can remember. Ive contacted my bank and they said my regular security measurements on my accounts should keep them safe, but obviously 2fa isnt foolproof as my Amazon account had that and it didnt work.
The main thing Im wondering though, does the flood of spam email ever end? Ive read some people saying it does, but honestly its relentless. Will I need to open up a new email and transfer every single account I have over to it?
