Going through a rough time and need suggestions for impromptu trip to help with soul searching
Ladies, I need some help during a period of severe anxiety and stress that is eating me up from the inside. I have to step away from my life for a couple of weeks, to get some perspective and have time to just ground myself and figure shit out. Planning to leave next weekend for 2 or 3 weeks. I'm a 39F from Toronto, if it helps.
I was initially thinking about doing a train trip through the Normandy/Brittany coasts in France, but the weather will be a bit chilly and dreary, so I'm unsure about the vibes. Really hoping to get some suggestions from this sub since I feel so indecisive right now.
Criteria:
-
Flying from Toronto and would prefer not to have a crazy long/expensive flight
-
I want to do some writing, so a place that's peaceful, inspiring, and also conducive to sitting in a cafe for hours with my laptop
-
I won't have a car, so somewhere with trains/uber/taxis is ideal. I LOVE long train rides.
-
I'm super flexible when it comes to moving every few days vs. staying in one big city for the whole 2 weeks - could go either way.
-
I dont do hostels; I prefer small, boutique hotels or b&bs that are affordable but have privacy
-
Must have stable internet connection, as i work remotely.
Some of my favorite places include Laos, Ecuador, Switzerland, France, and Thailand. Natural beauty and history/architecture are most important to me; I could sit on a bench for hours if I had a great view. Not a party person at all, and while I enjoy walking a lot, my health limits my abilities to hike/trek. My bucket list has places like Sri Lanka, Tanzania, and Mongolia, but I'm not sure if I should target more challenging locations given my fragile mental health (or maybe it could help..?)
Would really appreciate suggestions and experiences from this sub, especially places that you feel did your spirit/soul some good during hard times!
