How to get taken seriously at doctor's?
I've noticed that I have extremely flaky scalp, accompanied with extreme thinning at the front.
I am a woman under 35, periods are regular, I limit the protective styles I have per year (maybe like once or twice per year, with the last time I had braids being a year ago). My hair grows fine and it's actually longer than my baseline at the moment, the hair loss and flaking seems to be localised at the front.
I wash my hair about 1-2 times per week, I used to wash it weekly but when I started noticing the flaking I increased it.
I went to see the only dermatologist at my GP surgery (yes she was yt) and showed her my scalp and she just said it's dry scalp. I personally think it's seb derm. She told me to wash my hair in coconut oil to get the flakes out.
I had tried using Nizoral and she said it dries out the scalp more, but either way the flaking is constant, with or without it, with or without T-Gel, with or without H&S.
This doesn't explain the flaking coming back as soon as it's dried after washing nor the thinning. I kinda feel dismissed, she said there's nothing else I can do and that hair is usually thinner at the front.
Surely there's treatments or hormone checks no? I'm at a loss with what to do.
Thanks for any advice.
