I have mixed feelings of watching Love On The Spectrum

When it comes to autism representation,I get really nervous about seeing it in media.There are some representation that is so embarrassing that it makes me not want fully watch and then theres representation that is really decent.Love On the Spectrum isn't bad but its not the best in my opinion.I have really mixed feelings on it watching for the first time with season 3.

Lets start with the pros. I love how the show is showcasing autistic people actually having romantic relationships showing viewers that we are just like any other human being.I also noticed how a lot of neurotypical people pointed out how autistic people on the show are very honest and know what they want and dont want and turn down anyone that isnt compatible with them as to not waste their time staying in the relationship which is something you dont see on other dating shows.I love how Connor gets his first kiss amd gets overstimulated and is calmed by Georgie.

Then theres the cons.I didnt really care for the music which just sounds like something for a kids show.I also didnt care for how people infantilize the people on the show and mention how its not ovesexualized which is true and theres nothing wrong with that.But people make it seem as though we dont know much about ourselves whether we want sex or not.Dani for example is confident in wanting intimacy in her relationship.I love that both her and Adan come to a conclusion that they would not work out long term and break up instead of staying.I also dont like the hate that both Dani and James get.We do not know any of these people to be hateful towards them nor make fun of them for being who they are.I also didnt care for how they paired some people with those who dont fit their preference.Like what was the reason for that?

So do I think Love on the Spectrum show is good representation wise?yes.But is it something that I would personally rewatch as an ND viewer?Not really.The reason is for the cons that I pointed out.But I would not mind if other people disagreed and enjoyed it more and thats okay.

What are your thoughts on the show for those who have watched?
