AIO that I don’t want to stop until I get the leasing agent in trouble or fired but my partner says I’m doing too much?
I’m trying to not make this super long but we’ve already signed a lease for an apartment we really love and the location that would be very beneficial for my partner and I but also for our dogs. It’s private with its own entrance away from the main building etc. I know the lease is signed so we’re locked and loaded but I can definitely get the lease voided if I wanted to.
Long story short, leasing agent is unresponsive and always forgets to do one thing which led to another frustration etc. I’ve already argued with her maybe twice or thrice but who’s counting. My last straw was when she emails us the required deposit and it’s more than what was initially discussed and agreed. It went up 2.5x than before. So I emailed her that it wasn’t on the lease and I can just give whatever I want if I want to be technical etc. I even specifically said to have her manager speak to me because I am over talking to her. 3 days later, she calls me apologizing that she never said that the deposit was X amount and it’s based off my credit score whatever. I said that could make sense but that’s not what you told us before and why wasn’t it written on the lease. It was obvious she was scrambling and wanted to send an updated lease with the amount and I said I don’t want it - it’s signed why would I want that.
Anyways, she keeps apologizing that she ruined our experience but that’s was not her intention. I’m sure it wasn’t but she needs to do her job better. She said her manager is firm and hard to deal with so there’s no way around it knowing she never talked to her about it so I reiterated that I’m worse than her, trust me or we wouldn’t be having this discussion. Again, she kept apologizing etc. My partner keeps telling me that this is enough and I got what I wanted which is her apology and her actually reaching out. I know damn well she never spoke with her manager but my partner insists I need to stop because we don’t want to move to somewhere where we have bad blood from the leasing or management office. My point is, I’m trying to advocate for us and what’s right and even though this whole shit show finally got through her and knows not to mess with me, I don’t feel satisfied. Is it worth it to even talk to the manager? CEO rather? I have his contact and know all his social, lol. AIO?
