pea puffer questions

hey guys, i just had a 7.5gal custom made. i was checking for unique fish / species to house and remembered about pea puffers.. I'm not beginner, I've been fish keeping for 5-6 years with lots of eco system fish tanks, but never had a solo fish. Would a pea puffer be happy in a 7.5 gal? Gonna plant very heavily. Few websites say 10 gal, others say 5. Just confirming, and if not good, I'll just have a betta w shrimp and snails :)
