How to deal with a selfish and unreasonable parent

Hi guys. First time poster so please excuse any mistakes

I (25F) grew up in a home with both my parents present and 3 other siblings. I'd say it was a very strict household, bordering on abusive. My dad is very controlling. Whatever he says goes. We aren't really allowed to have our own opinions independent of his and according to him he is never wrong (even though he usually is). I moved out from home after varsity when I started working a few years back. But it always seems like even though I'm away, I cannot break free from his hold. Even at my big age, I always wonder if he might be mad at some decisions I take and I still find myself anxious and afraid of his reaction to MY decisions about MY own life quite a lot. How do I change this?

Right now I am building back home because on top of everything he controls the home's finances and does an extremely bad job that, so my parents have never really had a house of their own. The structure is kind of complete but the rest is a bit slow since we are now doing the rest from pocket (he misused the money from the building loan I took). I do monthly repayments on the loan and still send them money every month. Yet he still comes to me with so many expectations and demands so much from me even though I'm trying my best. I'm always helping with everything but it seems like it's never enough and I don't know how to put a stop to it for my own sanity. I'm stuck. Any advice is appreciated
