Fiancé wants portraits of us (bride and groom) with all the guests - help
Okay, so my fiancé and I are getting married May 2026.
We are inviting roughly 80 people.
At the moment, he wants to make sure we get portraits with all the guests.
So along with the standard family portraits and since we have a drone, a portrait of us with all the guests outside of the venue, fiancé ALSO wants other various group shots:
- a portrait of us with his coworkers, a portrait of us with his family friends from his home state, a portrait of us with college friends, etc etc until we have photos with all the guests
I feel this is a bit much? I told him this is going to be very time consuming but he does not believe me. He thinks it will not take much time to get these shots.
I really had wanted to enjoy cocktail hour and had planned on doing a first look and portraits before the ceremony (before I knew he wanted portraits with everyone) to get it over with. Our cocktail hour has a string quartet I really wanted to enjoy
But now, I don’t want to do portraits with all the guests groups before the ceremony? So I don’t know how this will change the timeline but I am just kind of confused.
And this seems very important to my fiancé. He said since we are having a smaller wedding (ie less than 200 people) he wants portraits with everyone.
He also said that they don’t need to be formal portraits- just photos of me and him and the others just smiling and facing the camera - but I don’t know
I could use some advice- feeling overwhelmed
