How long does it take for a hiring manager to reply to an email asking a question?
I applied for a job with the conservation corps a couple days ago, got an email from the hiring manager 2 days later saying she’d like me to schedule an interview (online). The problem is, she thinks I’m 18, so she recommended that I was better for the youth program(16-18). I’m 19. She thinks I’m 18 because I graduate with class of 2025 (repeated a year of school). I replied to her about an hour and half later telling her I was 19, and that I was only eligible for the adult program. I asked for clarification, and etc. That was yesterday at around 12:30 est. now it’s the next day at 4pm and I have not gotten a response. I know these people can be busy, but it’s making me anxious. I don’t want to schedule an interview before I clarify this. What if she doesn’t want to interview me for the adult program? What if there’s different information she needs? I was thinking of emailing her tomorrow, letting her know I emailed her, and asking if she saw it and clarifying that I don’t want to schedule an interview until we clear up the misunderstanding. Is this a good idea? Or should I just wait longer? Would it seem rude and impatient to email her tomorrow? For more context, I also checked her booking site and yesterday she had openings throughout the whole month (minus weekends), but now it says she’s unavailable through this entire week (until Monday). Does this explain why she’s not getting back to me sooner? I need some advice, or maybe just some validation from another person that this is normal. This is the first time I’ve ever applied to a job so idk how these things typically go… Any help is appreciated.
