If I repierce an old helix will it finally close up properly?
My first cartilage in 2001 was a helix at Claire's with a gun. It never really healed properly and would always get inflamed. I got one right next to it with a proper needle and although I liked two side by side, the bottom one continued to be easily irritated.
I took it out a few times and forced a piercing back in (sometimes this would bleed a little). Always ended up removing it again due to it being so much more sensitive than my other piercings. I haven't had an earring in the hole for years at this point.
I can squeeze some white stuff out from time to time and I did scratch up the back of it a while ago. It's inflamed again right now, I assume because of trapped debris. I really want this to close up but it's been over twenty years.... I know theres a lot of scarring and probably damage to the cartilage also.
Can I have it pierced with a needle to open the passage and allow it to close?
