Can I settle a credit card debt of 35K

Long story short, my ex husband raked up my personal Chase credit card that he was an authorized user for his business. In the end he couldn’t pay it off and it’s on me. I was a SAHM and couldn’t pay the payments and they just closed the card. I’ve heard you can settle credit card debts to be less than the amount owed. That card is still with the bank and not to a collection company. Is there a way to do this? Much help is needed. Thank you
