AITA. To add some context to these messages. I moved into my apartment with my then girlfriend and 2 year old daughter,in May 2023. It’s a 4 unit apartment. In August 2023 the lady across the hall moved out, was a disgusting person, unit infested with mice and had to be remodeled. When the remodeling began the ruckus caused the mice to migrate into our apartment. Within two days we had caught 4 mice on traps. Landlord told us to give it time to see if they stop but more and more kept getting caught in the traps. During this time we spent 3 weeks at either my sister or my mom’s hours. Landlord said he’d call pest control, then cancelled behind our back and threw out poison through the building, it lowered the amount we saw but the problem didn’t stop until we got a cat. Oct. 24 the flooring in the bathroom starts to bubble up and collect moisture under the subflooring. He initially says he has some extra vinyl laying around and will fix it. When he comes to fix it all he does is nail gun the pieces down and says “I’d have to tear the whole flooring up and I’m not doing that until I do the whole unit” I’ll May 2024 raised rent 5% accepted the raise. August 2024 I head downstairs to the basement where we have coin operated laundry and storage available. I FALL THROUGH THE FUCKING STAIRS. The stairs had been broken for month and all the landlord did was put up a sign saying “Broken Stairs”(last 3 pics will show that bull shit lol) ….Nov 2024 the caulking in the Tub is beginning to mold and the paint is chipping. He looks up prices for a tub reglaze and ultimately decides he doesn’t want to fix it because again it’s not worth it to do with out a full apartment remodel. Which he stated would be after I moved out… now to now he’s requesting to raise the rent.

AIO- My landlord is raising the rent
