Making a fixed springbar watch a springbar watch?

general questions

Hi everyone. Planning to start my watch repair journey soon and have been putting money towards some vintage Soviet watches to learn.

One I plan to get is actually going to be my wedding watch but I want to do some modifying to it.

It is a Zvezda TTK Uglich tank style watch from the 50s. It has fixed springbars and is meant to take a single-pass strap. Im wondering if there is an easy way to remove these bars and drill or carve holes so it can take standard springbar?

Any links to videos or posts would be helpful. Thanks!
