Which Hermès non-QB bags are actually the most desirable (on resale) ?
Follow-up to my last post! I dug into the data again for non-BK SKUs (except the HAC) to figure out what other styles are selling fast and for decent resale prices.
(Also: a few people wanted to see me split out leather vs exotic bags, which I think is super fair — so this analysis is filtered to just leather listings.)
I calculated a simple "desirability index" = resale price ÷ days to sell. So high price and fast turnover, same as before. I didn't take into account retail price because I lack a compiled dataset of this information. If anyone has that or knows where I can find it, I'd love to incorporate!!!!
Here’s what I found:
| Model & Size | Desirability Index | Avg Price | Avg Days to Sell |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hac Birkin Top Handle, 40 | 228.2 | $16,932 | 74.2 |
| Constance Crossbody, 23 | 158.3 | $9,993 | 63.1 |
| Constance Crossbody, 18 | 155.5 | $12,403 | 79.8 |
| Constance Crossbody, 24 | 145.6 | $11,563 | 79.4 |
| Garden Party Tote, 30 | 124.5 | $6,555 | 52.7 |
| Evelyne Crossbody, Tpm | 65.4 | $4,032 | 61.6 |
| Garden Party Tote, 36 | 64.1 | $3,972 | 61.9 |
| Evelyne Crossbody, Pm | 59.1 | $3,621 | 61.2 |
| Evelyne Crossbody, Gm | 51.8 | $3,099 | 59.8 |
Same as last time, I hyperlinked some example timeline charts to show sell-through for the visual learners out there.
These are obviously just resale-based numbers from what I can see online, and as always — there’s tons of nuance missing here (different leathers, resellers, stamp age, etc.). But directionally I still think it tells a similar story as the BK trends... smaller sizes generally being more desirable. The constance 23 I assume is a bit more special given it's discontinued/rarer -> more desirable.
Anyway, always down to explore other data questions people have been ruminating on. This was a fun afternoon! :)
