How useful are temp towers to you?

90% of the time when I print a temp tower the results are ambiguous with everything looking equally good across the entire temperature range for the filament. I've found this to be the case whether I'm using $12/kg Sunlu or $50/kg ProtoPasta on my X1C or my old mk3s.

Context is I'm printing some pieces that have fine detail first layer color change graphics so I thought I'd take the time to really dial in the filament to get everything as crisp as possible. I'm using the built in Orca slicer calibration routines and first step was a temp tower. I've been doing this for a while, what am I missing here?
