New EQE SUV Owner (UK) with some question after first long drive!

Hi all. Completed my first extended drive today in my EQE SUV, 500 4matic amg line premium to be exact.

I've had a couple of user issues that I wouldn't mind asking experienced users about. Annoyingly, I'm not too sure on the exact specifications for the car regarding options and trim because it's a lease that was a demo vehicle, and some paperwork is missing.

I have had a very good look at the manual for the following info, but hit dead ends, so would really appreciate some pointers;

  • Active Lane change assist: First, the car is very happy to lane change assist into an overtaking lane, but very hesitant to go back. Over about 2 hours of highway driving, it initiated auto lane change to overtake 100% of the time, but was about 50% of the time when going back the other way. I noticed no indicators that would suggest it wouldn't be happy with the maneuver, so I'm at a loss as to why this might be occurring.

  • Automatic lane change: I was looking forward to this feature, and disappointed to find that it doesn't seem to be on the car. I'm pretty certain that it has 'Driving Assistance Package Plus', as the dealer did give me a kind of limited spec sheet. And as far as this manual suggests, I should have the option if I have active lane change assist, which I obviously do. I've also checked that it's supported in the UK, and the source isn't great, but suggests that it was. However, the option simply isn't present in the menu, and I have checked that the car is up to date via OTA. Any pointers here? Thanks

  • Phone charging pad: My s22 ultra was DRAINING battery while running android auto and sitting on the wireless charging pad. I confirmed both the car and the phone indicated that charging was happening. Is this just a case of MB cheaped out on the wireless charger? I have a very slim case on it, and my previous car (hyundai ioniq 5) had no problem at all adding charge to the phone through the wireless charger while using AA.

  • Persistent 'skip track' buttons on the steering wheel: So my choice of dash is classic style, on the nav setting (the small windowed nav between the dials) However, as far as I can tell, using that mode means I have no way of skipping back and forward through Bluetooth audio tracks or radio stations from any buttons on the wheel. Is this correct or have I missed something? I have to swipe up to the media screen to do so, or use the screen buttons on the center console. Seems like a bad design decision IMO, especially as cycling through the modes in the classic dash is a PITA.

  • Miles per KWH: I think I know the answer to this one already, but there simply is no way to view efficiency readings in mi/kwh is there? I've set all localizations for the UK, and everything is in miles... except the efficiency readout... why MB??

  • Radio stations on classic dashboard: Also pretty sure this one can't be changed, but when you nav forward and back through radio stations from the wheel buttons, you can't specify that you only want to choose favorited stations, can you? Seriously bad choice, especially as we have like 100 DAB radio stations near where I live.

  • Auto switching dashboards based on driving situation: It would be very useful to have the dashboard switch the assistance mode when on highways. I can't see an option for this, so guessing it's not possible? A shame.

  • Nav info pop ups on the dash: Say I have voice guidance, and the central screen turned off, I was surprised to see that if I had route active and wasn't on a dashboard setting that didn't display the map, there was no pop up that shows an upcoming navigation prompt... that seems super obvious, right? Like, I want to have the current track selection in front of my most of the time, and I only need the nav to pop up to show me my exit is coming up for a moment. Again, as far as I can tell, not available, right?

  • Map steering wheel favorite button to android auto: My previous car allowed mapping of the favourite button on the steering wheel to go straight into AA. VERY useful, especially for waze/gmaps navigation. Again, I can't see an option to do that, simply not possible?

  • Remote parking: I'm not really sold on this feature, and it seems like a bit of a gimmick if I understand it correct. But still, I went to test it, and after registering my phone, I could not get the app to detect the car despite trying every prompt and context it provided. I have a suspicion that this has something to do with android auto connection preventing a proper 'handshake' with the app, but AA connects so agressively that I just gave up trying. Any suggestions here?

Thanks all for going over my very long list. So far, I'm enjoying the car. However, I'm surprised at the number of features it provides, but then the slightly awkward way it prevents them doesn't always seem like the most straightforward route.

Cheers.
