How long does it take for losartan to work?

I just went up to 50mg losartan from 25mg. I’ve taken the 50mg twice (last night and previous night), and tested BP this morning. Systolic was about the same, but diastolic was about 10 higher—140/85 this morning and 140/76 two days ago before starting the 50mg. I talked to pharmacist today and he said it should work right away. Reading posts here, a lot say it needs time to work. Who is right? My doc says to try it for several days and let her know.

I have a great deal of anxiety when checking my BP, and this morning was a huge let down because I thought I was pretty calm while taking it….at least as calm as it gets for me. Now I’ve spent most of the day worrying about it. Such a vicious cycle. Thanks for listening.
