Question: Is there any scientific data confirming that topical Vitamin A (retinoids) applied to large body areas for anti-aging doesn't cause systemic absorption or Vitamin A toxicity

Help/Advice

Hello everyone

I'm considering adding topical Vitamin A in my body skicare routime on larger body areas—arms, legs, chest—for anti-aging purposes, but I'm cautious about the risk of systemic absorption and potential Vitamin A toxicity.

Most advice online focuses on facial use, but there's little information about larger body parts body application. I'm specifically looking for scientific studies or data that confirm topical use—even over large surface areas—does not lead to side effects associated with Vitamin A overdose (e.g., liver stress, bone issues, etc.).

Has anyone come across credible research or expert consensus on this? Not looking for anecdotes—just actual evidence confirming safety at scale.

Thanks in advance!
