What are your guys thoughts and experiences with Professional genealogists?

I've gone through my tree and found some stuff however right now in my stage of genealogy with not much I personally know how to do in my tree not any new test updates for at least a month or two or any other tests to take/ I thought it was a good Idea to hire someone to just go through it with me! I'm wondering what do you guys think on it what are your experiences or story's you've heard about or with them and what should I expect after I pay? I've been waiting a while to find the perfect place to do it and I think I found it so I just wanted to ask some stuff on here!
