Realistic Advice for Where to Apply?
I'm planning to start law school in the 2026-2027 school year and am not sure where I could realistically get in/how to beef up my application beforehand. I'm mostly interested in public interest law with my ultimate goal being to one day work for the Innocence Project. I don't totally have my heart set on a T14 school but would like a decent bar pass rate & to be competitive for scholarships. I'm gonna have to take out loans for anything not covered by aid.
I'm taking the LSAT in April, practice scores have been high 160s. Undergrad GPA was 3.88, Magna Cum Laude, and I graduated a year early. I've also worked at 3 law firms: one part-time in college - Work Comp & Personal Injury; then I worked in family law in the litigation department of a non-profit legal aid; I'm currently a litigation paralegal at a personal injury/crim defense firm. By the time I'm actually attending law school, I'll have about 4 years of work experience in the legal field.
I was also the secretary of the psychology club in undergrad for 2 years and have been a member of the Psi Chi International Honor Society since 2020. I want to start some volunteer work this year but don't have a lot of other activities or anything yet.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I'm originally from Boston but have kind of lived all over the place and I'm open to living almost anywhere. Thank you!!
