Is Direct Really So Bad?

I’m not asking to compare Direct v Belt, there’s plenty of posts and knowledge on here about that. What I’m curious about, is if Direct Drive is really that bad?

I’m just starting out and in Canada, where good soap and equipment is expensive and somewhat hard to find. We don’t have the luxury of the great Harbour Freight up here lol.

As I’m looking for my first pressure washer, wanting that 4GPM machine, in my head is a battle between Direct v Belt. Direct is plentiful, Belt is few and far between. I’m trying to make the right decisions, at the right price points, tricky line to walk.

So are you guys all 100% against going Direct? I haven’t seen any comments in favour of Direct over Belt.
