Yarn & Thrift Stores

I have noticed that recently there has been lack of yarn in thrift stores. Over the past month or so, Texas Thrift and Goodwill have removed yarn from their shelves. So where do I go for cheap yarn ans why did they stop selling it? I can't afford new stuff from Michael's. I need my fix!
