How to suggest people shop from your registry

Need Advice

Hello everyone, first time momma here who has been a career nanny for the past 5 years. I would like to know how you guys kindly suggested to people that if they’re going to gift anything for baby that you really truly only want things from your registry and anything else maybe returned. I know this may sound blunt and I’m not at all ungrateful for any gift we may receive but as a career nanny of years I truly have a big list of items that were not useful, had harmful chemicals, created worry for choking hazard, just plain out sucked, ect. For the most part I knew what brands and or items I wanted to stay away from but I also had to spend hours and hours researching what brands are the safest/best option. I have added them to my registry which has taken me so many hours to complete so I am hoping people will shop from my registry vs just shopping for the fun of it. I have a decent size home but clutter drives me insane so even though it’s not a storage issue I just don’t see myself letting unused items pile up and I know I’ll return them which I will feel guilty about considering it was a gift for my little one and considering everyone on both sides of the family knows it not a space issue for storage as they have been to our home lol. I truly just am hoping that if anyone spends their hard earned money on my little family that they chose a item that will be useful for us so I’m looking for a kind way to really express that there is a high chance things that were not on the registry and were bought maybe return. I just feel really entitled saying these things but I don’t want to waste anyone’s money, my storage space (aka I hate clutter lol) and my mental sanity trying to return things before the return date expires lol. Please don’t think I’m entitled for this post Im sorry lol!
