I wish Dr. Stone explored the science behind martial arts and combat techniques.
I'm really disappointed that Dr. Stone doesn't dive into the science of fighting. Hyouga briefly mentions that his spear techniques were passed down through generations, but that's about it. I was hoping throughout the entire manga that someone, maybe Tsukasa or someone from the battle team, would break down fighting techniques and explain the tactical and scientific aspects behind them.
Fighting styles like boxing, judo, taekwondo, jiu jitsu, Muay Thai, and kickboxing can all be analyzed and improved through science. There is so much to explore: biomechanics, strategy, muscle memory, physics, reaction time, energy efficiency, all of it rooted in science. It would have been amazing to see someone in the story explain why they fight the way they do or how certain moves work better in specific situations.
Instead, the fights often ended up being flashy and over the top, with people jumping three meters in the air and pulling off moves that do not really reflect real combat. As someone who loves both MMA and science, I really feel like exploring the scientific side of martial arts would not have hurt the story. In fact, it could have added even more depth to the world.
