Exchange Won’t Let Me Withdraw—Should I Play Along?

A few nights ago, with BTC on sale, I decided to shop around across multiple exchanges. I bought in, and within hours, moved my funds to my wallet (Wasabi, of course!). Except—one exchange outright denied my transfer and blocked my withdrawal. Their email stated I could either sell and cash out or leave it sitting on their platform.

The next day, I reached out to their support. After running through their usual set of questions—how familiar I am with crypto, whether I had any help making my purchase, etc.—they requested a snapshot of my wallet ID or a history of my transactions with that wallet. I didn’t respond, but I decided to sell, cash out (taking a small loss, nothing major), and close my account.

Then, this morning, I received another email from them asking for that same information so they could unblock my account.

So now I’m wondering—if I wanted to entertain their requests, how should I proceed? Is it even possible?
