help with kh levels

i’ve had my shrimp tank up for around a year now and i cannot seem to get my kh above 1 no matter what i do. all other parameters in the tank are stable and within range but the kh issue has led to some fatalities when molting (like one a month for the past couple months and it’s always my females). i’m open to any ideas anyone has 🙏
